WOW The stories are great but the ship images and diagrams are just as good , they will provide good reference indeed so THANKS. I can’t help but think that I’m not the only one to suggest this but I also know it would probably be a lot of work but could there be images of the other ships in the books in the future , such as the Assailant , a Graing dreadnaught , a graing light cruiser for example .Cover illustrations with out the title words may even be good to visualize the ship. Thanks Dan … The Asailant would be good to add and some of the old Crain ships – heavy / Light cruisers. It’s a lot of work – if I get a few more requests / interest I’ll get it going
Absolutely! My wife and I read your books together, and when I showed her that I found these she squealed and bounced up and down a few times- suffice it to say reading that night tool a lot longer than usual as we kept flipping back and forth between my phone (which we read on) and the tablet (to view the diagrams) Any and all of the ships would be fantastic if you get a chance to make them!

I would love to see all the Craing ships. Also, it would be really nice to be able to see the Streamline/Starlight/Charm as well as the Assailant and Her Majesty. More than that though, I would love to see renderings of some of the characters or at least generic versions of the different species.
Yeah, I would also like to see the Asaliant and some of the Craing ships. Really like your books btw. Anxiously await more in the series.

Like me, all readers visualizes the worlds, aliens and ships described in books, it’s a great flight of imagination, but nothing compares to see the images from the authors mind, specially at this level of detail. Just awesome, thank you.
AMEN TO THAT!! Nice! And it’s something I haven’t run across yet. Of course there were those nifty links right in the pages of the books that brought me here. Maybe the other writers havent figured out how to do that yet.
Great books ,but getting into making a little girl a supper hero turned me off. I like to think of these books as being far far into the distant past ,when when a great civilization or empire of world’s roamed the universe, all I’m saying is keep it real , don’t go off into this fantasy of mind control ,and supernatural carp ,
He also dropped the gay bomb in the Ricket book. Kinda made me cringe to see that. Does every successful writer and holliwod director have to insert gay agenda into their work? Come on.
Have read more than 1/2 of McGinnis’s material , but I have not picked up much same sex byplay;i.e.none. Guess I’m not very aware of same sex experiences; sheltered life.
Ship’s diagrams, great idea! Next step would be to make them virtual, so we can “walk the decks”.

I got my Kindle 2 years ago, and the first book I got was Scrapyard Ship… and since then I have been sweatin bullets waiting for more from Mr McGinnis. Keep em comin coz I wont stop buyin them!
I am an incurable sci-fi addict and I started reading the Star Watch series before realizing there was a series before that. So I stopped mid-way and read all the Scrapyard books before resuming. What an amazing and imaginative series!!!! I could not put any of them down and had to read one right after another. Each character captured my interest right off and the technological explanations made all the difference in keeping that interest. However, these star ship images and layouts are very yummy icing on the cake. I hope the series continues. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent and imagination.

Hey, you may want to read Lone Star Renegades … I loved writing that book – full of real-life characters from my teen years…
Thanks Mark! I just downloaded Lone Star Renegades and I’ll be looking for the new one this December. There are about 5 authors whose books I have read all of and wait impatiently for the next. You’ve just been added to that list. I also want to tell you, as an “OCD” English major, it is a pleasure to read books with very few or no typos or grammatical errors. The dialog in your stories make me giggle and snort out loud, and the plot twists keep me coming back for more. On a different thread, I absolutely LOVE the artwork on the cover of Star Watch. Who is that artist and can that artwork be purchased, perhaps a print?
I have read the two Simpleton books and am hoping there will be more! Great characters and a lot of possibilities for exploration. Can’t wait!

I just finished reading Lone Star Renegades and the answer is YES I want to see more of this series. It was very entertaining and kept my interest from beginning to end. I wondered how a group of high school kids could be woven into a space opera without sounding like a teen novel but you did a superb job once again. The only question I have is which one of those high school characters is modeled after you, Mark? 😀

Just started reading your books, can’t seem to be able to put them down. Just can’t get enough. Been wondering when a author would put a diagram of his ships in a drawing. Helps with the imagination of the mind. It does need visual stimulation from time to time. Especially from the Author’s view.
Just finished Ship Wrecked. What a great short story! Really love the exotic technology and flora & fauna that runs out of your mind in big gobs like the saliva of a giant Lorth.
This one, too, could obviously lead to a new series. For a moment there, I thought I was going to see some inter-species makeout between Cameron and the cute little hairy chick.
Would really like to see more illustrations, like to ships and also a Lorth.

I just tore through “Miasma Burn”. Normally, a very slow reader, I was drawn through this one quickly (Like most of your books).
Your ability to set the stage with incredible detail, from the Hamilton bridge in the heat of battle with the Varapin, to a Summer evening in a small mid-west town (County Fair lights reflected in the Gas Station windows).
Also, that conveyor belt of bizarre yet plausible technology that spews from your mind seems to make these space operas possible.
I’d love to see one made into a movie!
Would also like to see illustrations of the Miasma ships, aliens, and most of all, HARDY!

Just finished the 5 book “USS Hamilton” series. It was OUTSTANDING! I’m hoping you will soon be working on episode 6. Book 5 left me hungering for more. I highly recommend this series. I actually like it more than the Scrapyard Ship series (which is also fantastic).
Also, I would love to see artist rendering of the ships in the USS Hamilton series.

Hamilton Book 6 (kindle) will be out in mid-August. I’m not sure if the ships’ rendering are in the future, but I never say never.

Thoroughly enjoyed the main series and enjoying this spin off just as much. MW McGinnis shows incredible imagination with the story as well as finding amazing solutions to the tech. What next, it opens your mind to what may be waiting to be discovered in the far future.

Mark, why do the crew of the Lilly/Minian use phase shifting itself as an offensive weapon (phase shifting into a group of Craing soldiers) in the earlier books but not later on? Also, if phase shifting displaces non-organic matter why doesn’t Jason just phase shift the Lilly/Minian into the bridge after bridge of the enemy vessels and just blow them apart that way? Finally, why don’t Alliance crew members just phase shift thermonuclear bombs inside the shields of enemy vessels and then just detonate them? Why constantly phase shift onto enemy vessels and engage in firefights?
